New Tires = Nice, but still a bit o' wiggle from front wheels now and again 700

Got my new Yokohama Avid H4s tires put on today. They completely eliminated the awful side to side wobble, and vibration from the old tire with the belt begining to separate. At times I used to think the tire tramping was going to throw the car off the road.

Have driven about 35 miles on the new tires, so can't give any useful review or impression of them yet. Noticable improvement in turn-in though. Not as sloppy and whale-like. Nice and smooth too.

In the quiet and comfort that now prevails in my Brick, I can now feel a bit of side-to side shimmy of the steering wheel on occasion. I did have the wheels and new tires balanced when put on, the mechanic drove the car to check it, he had permission to do a radial force balance if he thought it necessary (he did not think it was), and they did do an alignment on the front end.

The shimmy does not appear at the same speed all the time and not always the same force either. The brakes do feel very slightly pulsing too, in sync. with shimmy, but again, only on ocassion. It is always the same frequency too, does not get faster with increased speed or slow down as car slows.

Should I review the recent thread about the brake rotors warping ("What's so great about these cars. . ." or something like that) which has some replies pointing out bushings and things that can cause brake pulsing? I'm assuming that they can cause the wiggle inthe steering wheel that I feel ocassionally, since it shows up as a pulsation in the brake pedal sometimes too. Should I start there and replace bushings, etc., then get it re-aligned? Or go back to dealer and gripe?

I'm thinking that checking out front suspension parts is best idea. Do you guys agree?

    Use a pry bar to check ball joints and front sway bar end links.
    Have someone rotate the steering wheel, while you place your hand on each tie rod end, to check for play in those. There should be NO play in any of these parts. The rubber sway bar bushings should have some compliance with strong pressure, but no slop.
    Also, jack up the front end to check for wheel bearing play. And consider that you may have a warped front brake rotor- possibly due to the tire shop overtorqueing the nuts.
