wheels 200

Hi y'all

I`m afraid one of my wheels will need to be replaced - I have the second tire on it that is leaking air. I will try to have it remounted, but still. Anyone knows any place on the net where they sell Volvo wheels? Or anyone possibly have a relatively rust-free one for sale? BTW, am I supposed to replace these things in pairs, or replacxing one will do the trick?

Thanks.

V

I've had all 4 of my original steel rims leak air. All were solved by sanding, priming, and painting the lip of the rim where the tire seals. I used a rubberized rocker guard paint on mine. Some have warned that an undercoating type paint would eat the tire, but I guess my rubberized rocker guard paint isn't, because it's held fine.

Test yours by taking them off the car, laying them flat, and pouring a bit of water between where the tire meets the rim. You'll likely see bubbles, at least on one side.

No wheels don't come as pairs. Hard to believe it is not the valve stem and the wheel is shot. Lots of wheels on the web. What kind, steel stock or alloy?

oh i DO hope it is the valve stem...... though it is a brand new tire.... and my previous tire had just the same problem. will have it checked out first, of course. im looking for steel wheels if i have to. any sites? i did not find wheels on IPD, FCPGroton or Volvoworld - these are the places where I usually do my parts shopping.

thanks,

v

Valve stems aren't part of the tires, although you would trust that a tire shop would replace them while they're at it. Pump up the tire to full pressure, and spray some water around the valve. You should see bubbles. If not, do that everywhere and see where the bubbles are coming from. Hopefully that'll narrow down your problem.
As for replacement wheels, there are a bunch of different volvo wheels, ranging from the steel hubcapped ones, up to the turbo style virgos.
Hope it helps!
