You're probably going to have to replace the plug, but it's no big drama once you've got the exhaust manifold off, I replaced one in a motel carpark a few months back. (although I then found out I'd blown my head, so it wasn't as successful as it could have been)
I take it you're talking about those flat aluminium disks with the dented in centres, four of them along the side of the engine. After draining the coolant, you should be able to remove the old one by hitting it to turn it, then removing it with a pair of plyers. If that doesn't do anything for you, just make a hole in the middle of it and lever it out with a screwdriver through the hole. Clean up the hole in the block as best you can.
The dish style plugs are really easy to put in. Put a bit of sealant around the plug, then put it in place, with the dome bulging out. Hit it in the middle, and it will expand. Basicly you're looking to make it a whole lot flatter than it was. Ideally you want to be punching something like a socket extension into the middle of it, but you can get away with just hitting it square in the middle with a decent weight hammer.
Then put the exhaust back in place, and remember to fit new gaskets on the exhaust headers, or the car will sound like a tank.
