my kid's are stuck! 200 1989

I can't get the back doors to open....from inside or out!The only way they can get out is to climb over the seat! I know the kid proof thingy isn't set wrong- just both the inside and outside handles won't open the doors. They feel alright-not loose or disconnected, but something is wrong. Any suggestions? TIA

This may be a silly question, but are your power door locks on the back doors working?

Sounds to me like the linkage has disconnected inside.

Had it happen to me with passenger side rear door.

Hard to take the panel off from inside without damage. I have AAA so I had a locksmith open the door, then I immediately took the panel off and later reconnected the linkage.

    Good luck.

Yes, it's difficult to remove the door panel with the door closed, but you can dislodge the bezel around the door control and perhaps fish for the rod once attached to the bottom of the lever. Pull it forward.

PS: No word in the English language is made plural by adding apostrophe s! It's just kids.

Tell Minimac that. You're talking to an Englishman here who speaks proper English!
