Good morning all. Is there a way to determine year of manufacture and horsepower rating with numbers off the engine? Also are all J type trannies the same? If not can it's production be traced too?

Thanks

No. I picked up a FI B20 block (with everything but starter and injection) and a M40 with J type od for $125 and I want to know if one or both are from a 1800

Just having fun......

M40 + OD? 120-130

To my knowledge, a M40 does not connect with Laycock overdrives...? Are you sure it's an M40?

Also, do you have more than one M41 now... because I live in the same town and I might be interested in buying one off you...?

I have a .pdf file of all B18/20 engine numbers. Email me for a copy. It's in German, but numbers are numbers!
