I finally got the sweet thing running after a few months.

Things I learned during this journey was that you can have too many resourses and when looking through some guides a flip chart would be great to follow. The reaaon for this is I had two problems that ran together.

The first problem was not being able to put it in drive or reverse with out it dieing. Looking in the faq one would find to check the distributor. After checking it it indeed was in need of a new one. Tune up along with it, no change in the behavior of the car. Check faq again and find it could be fuel related so I went through and replaced all fuel pumps resoldered the relays and new hoses/ reulator. I was then able to put it in gear after it had warmed up. Oops but now it wants to die if you push on the gas too hard. This time faq was fuzzy and I put a new air box thermo switch in and rebuilt the intake side of the motor. Still no change, I finally got the amm off of ebay today and took all of 2 min to put in.

I am now one happy man, everything under the hood is new except a few things but now I can turn my time to my other hobby.

Thanks to all who helped me with this and wonder if anyone knows of a good way to start a flow chart?

Hi,

FAQ is great, but often it would be a good idea to post a message and ask for suggestions...

Given the symptoms, I would have said it is likely the AMM - as would have many others.

Anyhow, you had an opportunity to "clean up" other items and get to know the car.

Great!
