7xx series Digital outside Temperature Guage(!?)

Hello All,

I came across this a few days ago and HAD to bid on it. Thankfully, I won the bid!.. Is anyone familiar with this guage? - as I will be installing it into my 88 740 in a few days when I get it.. It looks/sounds fairly nice in the ad description...and doesnt seem *too hard* to install- though I've never poked around with my instrument panel before... I never even knew this thing existed.. apparently part of an alleged "Winter Package" from Volvo- available for 740/760's.. (?) Anyone seen this guage in real life??? This makes me wonder what other possible unique guages Volvo may have made for the 7xx's- I have 2 blank spaces available in my cluster waiting for gadgets...hmmm.....

Go To the owners section of Volvocars.com. You may need to register first. There is a library there that has the volvo accessories. There are actually quite a few but they're big $$$ - at least the ones I priced.

I asked the dealer how much the ambient temp meter was and I think it was over $300. There's not a space on my turbo dash for it anyway...

My (Canadian market) 740T has this in the upper left corner of the cluster, where there is often a voltmeter.
