Ambient temperature gauge 200 1990

Only having my 1990 244 DL for 1 month, I really notice not having this feature in a car. I know you can still get the digital for the obscene amount of $261, but I would rather have the analog Fahrenheit one(fitting with the analog dash). I can't *anyone* that has it though, after checking eBay, several dealers and junkyards. Can someone tell me where I can get one? (price is not a primary consideration for the analog :) )

Thanks in advance!

Jason

You can also buy a brand-new VDO Vision Series Ambient Temperature gauge, complete with sender. VDO is the manufacturer of the OEM gauge.

One source is www.egauges.com - their price is US$91.06

    VDO part number is 397-154.

When I started looking for an ambient temp gauge, I wanted the same thing. I finally settled for a celsius gauge (with no sender) that I bought online for $20. I figured sooner or later I'd get around to buying a sender and such.

I guess it'd make you sick to know that I then found a new-in-the-box analog farenheit kit for $50. Yep, everything from the sender to the gauge, instructions, the whole nine yards. I then sold the other gauge for $75, which is about what a used gauge without the sender brings on ebay.

Keep looking, you might get lucky too.

they do pop up on ebay every now and again. Ususally go from between 50 to 75 bucks, if I remember correctly. You know my parents have a nice digital thermometer with a sender on a 3 foot cord....you could just hook something like that up somewhere for about 10 bucks. hah. i guess it wouldn't look as cool though.
