Sorry if this topic is overdone. I may have found a set of virgos. What size tire is the optimal choice for them? I would think like a 205/60-15 would work or is that too wide?

I just bought a set of tires for my 242ti, BFG Traction T\A's. The size is 205\60\15 and fits well, and is plenty of tire under there. My previous set was Dunlop D60 A2 195\60\15, and I like the look of the 205's better. I've only had these new tires for a few weeks, but I like them a lot.

I haven't seen any 65 series tires on these wheels but I would imagine they would be too tall. The 205\60's look plenty big in there.

I've just fit 205/55/15 Kuhmos to the 242 and couldn't be happier with them. According to the tire size calculator, my speedo should be reading 1.4% too fast, not a bad thing the way I drive...

Kane is correct - the 205/65-15 calculates out to less than 1% smaller in circumference than the 185-14. That's a speedo and odomtere difference that would be unnoticeable. But the 195/60 tire is almost 6% smaller. You might like the looks, but the speedo and odo will have considerable error on the high side.

To match the 185/14 stock tire size for a 245, you'll need 205/65/15. And it will look tall.



205/60/15 is a happy compromise - lower profile, but still closer to original height than a 195/60/15 (sedan and turbo size).

I would prefer a thinner sidewall, I'm not a fan of the cartoon tires I have right now. What would a 205/55 or a 195/55 do to affect my speedo?
Also I think I'm going to lower the car slightly at some point so I don't want the tires to rub or anything.

Normal fitment is 195/60-15. The 205/60 will fit fine if that suits you.
