Just for added insurance, you might run a parallel heavy red wire from Alt B+, up and over the front of the engine, directly to Battery +.

I did this on my son's 83 turbo when the main one (Alt to Starter to Batt+) got semi-fried.

Make sure tha Alt ground wire is good too. It carries the same current as Big Red.

The big red one is a big deal. It carries the charging amperage, and it's hot all the time. Go for 8 gauge. Of the bummed wires, that one may be OK. A double wrap with vinyl electrician's tape might do the job.

The smaller wires, red and black (oil sensor) are OK at 16 gauge. Are you going to run them around via the fender or re-hab them inside the harness?

I have re-hab the harness on 2 240s, and it's not that bad a job, just a mess.

    Good Luck,

    Bob
