My daughter just wrecked my beloved 1985 740.

I have the following manuals for sale:
*Owners Manual, Maintaince Records Manual, Warranty Information, Tuner Deck
TD-3141Manual , Maintenance Service Chart, Service Literature flyer and the
black plastic folder for them.

New parts never installed:
*Timing belt (list $30)
*Timing belt tensioner (list $89)

Recently installed (less than 500 miles):
* full Bosch distributor and cap (includes new Hall Effect sensor - list
$293)
*Air Control Valve(list $165). This makes it idle much better.

I don't want these new parts to go unused....Make me an offer for any or
all!!!

'85 Volvo 740 165,000 mi. (deceased)
'93 Volvo 850 5 cyl. 130,000 mi.
'01 VW Passat GLX 6 cyl. 40,000 mi.
'72 Triumph 650 Bonneville 12,000 mi.

List these together on ebay and you'll recoup most of that..... I just bought/won a bid for new timing belt and belt tensoner pully thing all for a little less than what you paid.

you can see what others are selling their parts for....you could probably piece out the whole car and get a grand or so in parts from whatever is left.

Just put it up all at once for "parts" or take each part off and take a picture and list it. You'd be amazed at what people will pay for a bag of relays these days.....or a used oil cooler,,,or glass, doors, trim, dashboard....
it's a good thing it protected her and the airbag still worked? (no air bag?)

ILL give you 50 75$ for the air control valve.

It did its job and saved her. It is what the car was ultimately designed for -- it fulfilled its purpose. Far better than than to just be melted down for scrap because no one wanted it anymore.
