Paintless dent removal, anyone try it! 200

Well along with the new scratch on my windshield I also want to remove a few door dings on the car.I heard of something called paintless dent removal.Every now and then on my way to work I see a car with all these logos on it promoting the system.Has anyone on the board had it done and how were the results, costs?I have a black 1990 240 Dl with very good shinny paint but there are about 5 or 6 dings I would like to have removed. If I don't have to have the entire car painted that would be plus.Any thoughts?
Thanks,Nelson
1990 240 DL,e-codes with wipers,rear decor panel,full instrumentation,bilsteins and ipd sway bars,will be adding keyless entry,power mirrors,cowl vent covers,
and anything else I can find.

When I had installed turbo sways, gas shocks and struts and put on wide tires, I wanted to really check the difference in handling. So I went into the roundabout at app. 70 kmh -- sheer madness, but the car stuck like glue. The wide grin on my face lasted until I discovered I had forgotten all about the sparkplug socket tool I had lying loose in the trunk. Of course, it had shot sideways like a bullet, making a convex dent in the righthand side panel, just above the bumper. Aaargh!

I decided the dent had to be removed, being the only blemish on an otherwise perfect car, so I gave this method a try. I was really sceptical, but thought it might be worth a shot -- if they were successful, I wouldn't have to worry about repainting, getting color differences etc. And I must say, they really really convinced me. The result is just perfect, it is absolutely impossible to see the previously damaged area. Not with the sun coming in along the side, not with watching and feeling closely: It is just like a wizard has removed it with his magic powers.

Later I have fitted a tailor-made piece made from camping mattress material between cardboard and panel in the trunk. Don't want another accident like this happen again.

The real paintless dent remove is kinda a draw. Yes it works great.
The bad side is that holes will need to be drilled in the doors strike and the jams, in order to get to the inside of the doors and inside the front fenders and such. Than after awhile rust will set in.
The type with the hot glue is not safe on cars that has been, re-painted it will pull the paint off and that just looks worse than the dent.

I had it done on a Chevy I had prior to selling it. It came out perfect, and the ding was a dandy I put there myself by opening the door against a truck bumper. I wish I had done it two years prior, rather than drive atound with that ding . You could never tell where the ding was!

The paintless dent removel usualy works quite well on most smaller dings, although it's partly dependent on age.
It's well worth it though, as most times they can get most dents without any dammge to the paint.

I think I 'll give it a try.As Detailer said about drilling I think I will remove any panels that may be in the way so they don't have make any holes. It has to be cheaper than painting a car. Thanks, everyone,

Meh. Dings add character, don'tcha know? Pulling out the dings
will increase the chances of paint cracking and eventual rust.
