'cool' (not cold) start problem 700

My '91 740 Turbo has developed the following problem:
It starts fine when fully cold (outside temps less than, say 32 degrees).
It starts fine when fully warm -- immediate restart or up
to 10 minute wait.

It has a hard time starting with the temperature at about
40 degrees, or if the engine has cooled down about 30 min
to an hour in colder weather. (As if, say, the carburetor
choke plate had closed on a still-warm engine. Too bad
choke plates when out with carburetors a long time ago,
or I could fix it in a flash...)

Warm weather performance isn't known yet as
we haven't gotten past 55 degrees here in
Chicago this season. Anyone have any clues?

Thanks.

Check the radio supression relay for cold solder joints.
