Glovebox Light 200

How does the glovebox light wire connect to the bulb holder?

Lost.

Before you pull the glovebox and try to remove the light, remove the fuse that supplies it - No. 8 on our cars. The way they have the electrical connector on the back of the bulb holder, it's hard to extract it without shorting it to ground on the edge of its opening. I do it every damn time.

The bulb and holder are just a gentle press fit into their opening in the dash. As KarmaticLove notes, it's obvious once you pull the glovebox (7 screws, actually).

A couple of screws remove the glovebox, and when taken out you will be able to answer the question yourself.

And if there is some drama with the connector/bulb holder then hit the pick & pull, get what you need, and go home to splice away.

Peace, Jon

I guess I should clarify...

I need to reconnect the power supply wire to the bulb holder. I know how to remove bulb and holder, got careless and pulled wire from it.

Thanks

So the wire is there, but just not connected into the socket, right?

I don't think there is a way to re-attach that. Get a light from a boneyard and splice it in.

Good Luck,

Bob

Correct. Thanks. BTW, I used your idea to reattach the skin to the glovebox using screws under the trim strip. Worked great.
