Water injection 140-160

Today I've heared of a guy in Australia who runs 1/3rd water in his 1970's Volvo. Don't know what model and engine yet, but will make contact with him. There has been posts about water injection before, but I was wondering if this guy is on the BrickBoard, and if anyone has some interesting new stories about injecting water. Thanks...

    Water injection 140-160

In the thirties a fellow named Frank Kleinig, Or Kleining pioneered water injection in australia holding many hill climb records and race wins in a hudson Terraplane special. He used a mix of water and methylated spirits injected into inlet manifold by gravity drip feed, metho mixes with water which upped the fuel burn, water cooled air for denser cylinder charge. He called it the water alcohol injection system which he later marketed. You may find more on him on the web by entering his name as he was one of the icons of motorsport in Australia. Mixing metho in petrol to get rid of water in fuel tanks in electronic fuel injection systems is a no no as it damages pintles in injectors. it would have to be a separate system on any EFI engine . Regards Jack McIntyre.
