What years engines are the same? 200

I think this question has been asked many times, but I wasn't successful in searching for the answer.

I need to go to the boneyard tomorrow to pull a replacement short block for my 1984 245 wagon 2.3L with automatic trans. I intend to strip all external accessories off the replacement block, and reuse my good cylinder head, manifolds, engine mounts, etc.

Question: Will any year 240 engine block work as a replacement? If not, what years will work. I think the yard has several later 80's models.
