You may want to check that the 1/4" wire spring that attaches the downpipe to the engine block is actually bolted down correctly. There should be 3 screws and 3 flange washers, two of them bolt down to the downpipe and one bolts down to an "adapter" that somehow attaches to the engine block. That's how it is on my '93 940 NA at least.
I have replaced my exhaust vibration bracket without first checking that downpipe holding spring (bracket). The screw that held it to the engine was missing :)
Another issue: non-Volvo downpipes (I had to replace mine some months after doing the bracket job) don't have the flange into which to bolt that vibration bracket anyway, so maybe that's what the extra parts you have were for.
Anyway, I have got my new rear tranny mount and I will be thus parting with my now-useless bracket when I replace the mount. If anyone wants the bracket (it's 6 months old) it's up for grabs. I'll ship via USPS to anyone who will cover the postage. If somebody getting it will also want adding some bucks for a beer, my PayPal won't mind either :) The tips are optional, of course ;]
Cheers, Kuba
