Work is moving forward on the Yellow Peril (the 1973 145E that used a quart
of oil every 40 miles). Grandson Ben and I have pretty much assembled the
block and are looking toward the finer points of getting it into the car
and functional. The old engine is still in place. I pulled the injectors
from the old engine and also from my culch heap and found that I have several
kinds:
0 280 150 024 (5 ea)
0 280 150 036 (5 ea)
0 280 150 045 (1 ea)
Unnumbered blue (1 ea) marked "RAM"
Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these different parts?
I am about to send some to CruzinPerformance in Michigan, which has a
refurbishing service for them. They have data on the 036 in their database
but not on the others. Looks like if the difference is flow rate,
it might be important not to mix them.
Any light any of you can shed on this will be much appreciated.
BTW CruzinPerformance cleans and flow tests these for $11 each, which
seems pretty good to me. They also test coil resistance/current draw,
leakage, etc as part of the cleaning/testing service. This is only based
on what Kent Thompson told me and I saw on their website, not an active plug
for their service.
