Does anyone have experience with aftermarket front struts for a 1998 S90 or am I stuck with OE? Thanks

    The consensus here is that the only source is the dealer. Several will discount however so if you DIY you can save some $.$$.

    '96 965 with 16' wheels at 113K. Had '85 745 Turbo Diesel for 200K.

      I had mine replaced not too long ago. Got them from a dealer because they give me a good price, but I believe FCP Groton also sells OEMs. Be aware that it is not just the strut cartridge, but the whole strut assembly. More expensive, but easier to install w/o realigning.

        I got my from FCPGroton for $103 each. The 960 also needed mounts, so be sure and check yours. www.myswedishparts.com also has them for $107 each.

        It's interesting that MONROE makes the replacement shocks for Volvo on these cars. Mine were stamped with a CLEAR Volvo sign, and also "Monroe Made in Spain".

        The ride/handling difference is AMAZING after they were installed. It's now softer in town (important on Dallas' dreadful streets) and firmer on the highway.
