bad gas / draining tank 200 1990

everything on the mechanical and electrical side seems to be working in order. Checked, fpr, amm, ets, relays, and computer.

The car has been sitting for a while about, 3 months, and pior to that about 8 months. But the last time it ran fine (3-4 months ago). Yesterday when I started it, it was puffing clouds of black smoke, drove fine but still smoking. Filled it up with 9 gals of fresh gas. Still smoking.

Today it started for about thirty secounds and would not start again (below freezing outside). I am stumped. Fuel relay clicks, get spark ect.

Is there a drain hole in the tank, i have not seen one. The only thing I did different today was put in a bottle of techron before starting it.

there is no drain. if you want the fuel out, jump the fuel pump relay and remove the return line near the tank. good luck, chuck.

Nice to see you posting but sorry you're having to work this issue in the "below freezing" cold. Hey, it is way below freezing.

The black smoke clue gets me thinking your air supply is missing instead of bad gas. Just wonder if some little cold critters made a nice warm nest out of your airbox over the duration. Nine gallons of fresh gas through that recirculating fuel pump should be enough to wash any condensation through.

hey Art, it's the ECU. It's got a rebuilt programma one inside and that's shot. Tested it and it's positively shot. I think it went bad because I did not disconnect the battery when it was parked for all this time. Thats the only reason I can think of. Anyway I have to make a trip to rays, all my local junk yard don't have them.
