Tokicos or bilsteins??? 700

Has anyone had experience with Tokico hp Blue shocks or Bilsteins for a 745t? There is frequently offered on ebay complete sets but I don't know if they're any good. I'm not sure which model of Bilsteins the seller is offering- I know there is an economy set but I haven't got a reply from the seller. For $189 they're probably the economies. Any experience with these? Are they good? Thanks,
Peter

I have been looking at the same auctions on ebay for my 86 turbo (dont want to put a whole lot of money into good shocks on a $1500 car). I had a volvo mechanic (who is pretty reputable) to go with the KYB hydraulic shocks because they hold up much longer than gas, especially under the heavier weight of Volvos'. He also said they give a much better ride and also said, if nothing else, do the KYB up front (which he quoted as $350 for labor/parts) and go with a little cheaper shock on the back. If you go with one of the auction specials, let me know how it turns out cause I still might go that route to save some money. GOOD LUCK, Joe.

There have been mixed results with the Bilstein Touring Class. A search should give some results.

Some have reported Tokico's as being made in China nowadays.

If you're looking at stiffer for cheaper, consider KYB gas-adjusts. Just don't expect the longevity of the Bilstein HD's.
