I changed my share of em and the other Brickheads are correct, price is resonable. After market filter at parts store is 15$, Volvo OEM 24$, big heavy filter, not little plastic junk as you may be thinking. Banjo bolts some times sieze in filter, sometimes you break the small plastic pre-formed fuel hose from pump to filter, you have to discharge line pressure and duck too. It is not a fun job I have found.

yah it's good, it could be a messy job and make sure he installs new copper o-rings... good idea to put in a new check valve too since he would have the assembly down. It's only another 5 minutes.

Cheap, go for it. Use good parts.

    sounds good to me...

a non gen filter is £7 (cira $12)...so that leaves $43 for labour....

well thats about an 1/2 hour - 45 mins at a shop (if your lucky...)..

to do that job...sounds reasonable to me...would take me AT LEAST that long...
