Brake Failure Light, cold weather, brakes work fine... 200

The last couple mornings after starting the car, the Brake Failure light came on. The light stayed on for 8 miles or so, then turned off. Today, the light never turned off. However, the brakes work fine. I cannot notice anything out of the ordinary. Brake fluid level is at Miniumum where it has been for some time. I fiddled with the connection on the top of the reservoir to no avail. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Sam

Why do you keep the fluid level at min?The light is triggered when the fluid gets too low in the reservoir.

If the fluid level is at the minimum mark, it's likely that it's just low enough when it's cold to trigger the light. The level gets low over time from wear to the pads. Mine did the same recently, and I finally added a bit of fluid to the reservoir.
