Sounds normal, but. Mine has power to the main fuel pump fuse #6, when it quits the in tank pump fuse #4 looses power. The fuel pump relay has been replace, opened it up anyway, but couldn't find any broken wires or burned spots. The relay makes a buzzing sound when you try and restart it. Looked under the rear seat, didn't find the connectors others have mentioned. It is a wagon. After it sits for awhile it will restart, but it is running shorter times at each restart. This started Thur. Now it goes a couple of miles and quits.

It sound obvious, but don't overlook a clogged fuel filter or faulty fuel line. A rusted line on the suction end could be sucking air and the pump loses it's prime. A crimped or collapsed line would not let enough volume through.

The grey 2-pin connector next to or below the coil is coming unplugged, or is possibly corroded. Unplug it, tighten up the pins, clean up as necessary, and plug it together as tightly as you can.

Exact symptoms of the 87 244DL I just fixed a couple months ago.

looses power TO fuse 4 or FROM 4? maybe the fuse box is dirty? on all my old cars, and when i get a service, i replace the fuses, clean the box and pinch the clips tighter at 30k intervals. cheap insurance. good luck, chuck.

Both sides of the #4 fuse loose power. I already cleaned and replaced with the stainless glass fuses. Where does that fuse get its power?

I believe it is a wiring harness problem. It was losing power at the fuse panel, I made a fused jumper wire from the heated seat fuse to the pump fuse and its working now while I wait for a new wiring harness. Thanks for all the help from the brick board. Andy
