Identifying brake calipers 700 1991

Hi,

I have a 745 turbo 1991 and I have to change my brake disks. We are supposed to be able to identify the calipers with a number (1st digit of 4th row) of a tag placed on a member supporting the radiator. Problem is, the 4th row begin with a dash; here are the 6 rows:

7458722
22139-2
A43GC-5
-9 5912
214 -21
3

The identification number is:

YVIFX8758M3320929

Everything else fits correctle the description of my car. Is there any other way to identify.

Also, I have seen some Brembo rotors on the net; I know them from the motorcycle world but anybody had experience with them on their car?

Thanks a zillion.

There is a tag on the drivers side rear door jamb that has the code as described in the FAQ under caliper identification. Mine had a 3 for the code which means bendix on the front. After I got the wheels off to replace my bendix brakes/rotors I discovered I had girlings on the front and had to exchange them. SO, the only way to be certain is to take the wheel off and look.

The rotors on your car are probably the 11 inch diameter "Jumbo" rotors, as described in the 700/900 FAQ. The rotors have the 11.25" "Big" rotor, but they are probably the Jumnbos. I have only seen Girling calipers on the 1991 cars, but check before ordering parts.
