Where can I get a new gas tank for my 78 242 for the best price?
Are all 240 tanks metal or are some late models plastic?

be advised if the tank has never been changed, get everything from the cap to the fuel sender and swap it all. the early cars had a coupla designs before they settled on 1 in 79 or so. find a 93 smacked in the front and go for it. good luck, chuck.

I'm actually looking for sources for a brand new tank.
I was just wondering if it would be worth while to upgrade to a new style tank, otherwise I'll stick with a new 78 tank.

if you go to the dealer, they will sell you exactly what i mentioned, unless the tank has already been upgraded. if yours looks identical to, say, an 81, then it's been done and you just need a tank. good luck, chuck.

My 1990's are both metal. Think all 240's are.
