question about redlines... 200

I've notice a couple of different redlines shown for the 240 series. What years have what redlines? Just curious.

1988 240DL 157K(?)

B21F/B23E, 6500rpm redline, no rev limiter ('76-'82 for B21F, '81-'83 for B23E in Canada).

B23F/B230F, 6000rpm redline, 6k rev limiter ('83-'84 B23F, '85-'93 for B230F).

I would assume Bob is correct about the turbo having a 6k redline ('81-'85).

As a rough approximation the turbo cars used a 6000 redline and the non-turbos for a while used 6500 on their tachs. That probably explains most of it although I seem to remember later cars may have the 6000 as well.

'89 redlines at 6000 rpm 200 1989

Surely, I'd have better things to do at 95mph....
.
My '88 tach. has a "soft" redline (outlined in red) of 6000 and a "hard" redline of 6500 (red filled in). Then again, the tach. isn't original.
.
Cheers,
-b.

My parents' 1974 142 with a B20: 6000rpm continuous (yellow zone),
do not exceed 6500rpm (red zone).
.
My 240 with a B230. Same thing, except it seems to have a rev
limiter which kicks in at around 6200rpm.
.
Cheers,
-b.
