Converting from 86 to 83 headlamps 200

We found a really nice '86 245. Has a bad transmission M46. Wondering how much of the '83 245T we can swap overto the '86??? Like to move the H4's and turbo grille over if possible. One of the '86 lens is fogged yellow like.Any help very much appreciated. AJ in Tacoma

Thanks for the input guys, really helped out. I don't think its worth the trouble for the quadlights.

everything from the windshield forward is different enough not to work. change the hood, fenders, upper and lower rad supports and the headlight buckets, change the connectors on the head lights, and i think that'll do it. good luck, chuck.

You said it, but not in so many words. The cowl panel would have to be cut out and the pre-'86 type would have to be welded in so that the hood from the '83 would fit. Not easy, but I have seen one flat hood conversion on a '90 245.

Unless you transfer the entire front clip, you cannot swap the lights from the turbo into the '86 car. The cut-outs for the turn signals are different in size and shape, and the grill and light surrounds on the turbo will be too tall for the openings in the '86.
