Vacuum Stop? 200

what the hell is it? I have never heard of it and in a recent post somone spoke of disconnecting it.

I am ready to be enlightened.

Vacuum Stop? 200

Yes its a check valve. At work we call them a vacum stop, because they prevent the vacume from flowing backwards from which it came.

I am just am not understanding what the reason is for disconnecting it if it doesn't do anything, then why is it connected in the first place?

Beats me. I think I agree with you. First I've heard of a "vacuum stop," and if there were one, why connect it in (what apparently is) the line to the vacuum advance on the ignition module?

It sounds as if they're referring to the vacuum check valve, which is installed between the intake manifold and the vac reservoir (which is used only for the vacuum-actuated ventilation dampers).

Incidentally, regarding that poster's problem.......... Based on his description of the symptoms, my reaction is that he has a plugging catalytic converter.

vacuum stop? well, on a mercedes diesel, that's what stops the fuel supply to the injection pump. on a volvo, any volvo including diesels, never heard of it. chuck.
