Delay In Ability to Start '87 740 8V

Recently, it is taking up to 4 minutes for the computer to say "OK, you can start the engine now". All the instrument panel lamps, sans the seat belt lamp, remain out for an extended period of time. Once illuminated, start and operation are indeed NORMAL. As bad as the 240 6cyl. diesel I had to get started.

All tricks, hints, suggestions and magic wands greatly appreciated.

Joe D.

lay your healing hand on the relay box, and turn the key.
Whichever relay clicks as the car starts needs to have its head ripped off and Dunked in wd-40, or just replaced.

I say, I say, I say heal! As you related, I laid my hand on the relay panel and waited for the feeling to move me! Tried the old wiggle and jiggle trick and, Lo and Behold, things are working fine. Thanks a zillion for the suggestion.
