Need a trans 700

Need a "good" zf trans.
I had one lined up b4 I left out to sea a few months ago. Was gonna be gone a couple weeks, turned into almost 5 months :(
Can't locate the info on the guy who had one & I'm too broke to buy it anyway :(

Dumb question, but I'd gladly make a trade from one of my parts cars (need parts? lol) for it. hehe

Seriously, I can't afford it right now, but I'm looking for ppl who actually have one & want to sell it cheap, so I can get to looking for the cash needed.

Actually want an M46, that's what's in the car. I can't come close to affording one though. The reason for the dreaded zf is that I have the parts to swap it & I know the trans intimately.

Frank,

Where are you located? I've got a couple of transmissions--one m46, one AW70--both from 240s. I'm in Yorktown VA, trans are in Newport News.

M46 is so-so: real good OD, but a little bearing noise at idle and jumps out of second if you're not smooth . . . possible bad synchro or maybe a thrust bearing. It has a new TO bearing and clutch arm.

AW70 is good, 170K miles, new rear bearing and seal, needs a kickdown cable (snagged when removing).

Let me know if you're interested . . . .

Regards,

Steve A-

What's wrong with your M-46? A website listing the inventories of hundreds of salvage yards is here

It's in about 20 pieces :) bought it that way. The idiot I got the car from downshifted to 2nd from OD trying to catch up with a blonde on the highway.
