Hot Start Problem '86 240 - Mechanic in Northern Virginia? 200 1986

Hello,

Just purchased a 1986 240. It is not starting after it is warmed up. If I try to start it immediatly after turning it off it starts, but if it sits for a couple minutes it will not restart until it sits for an hour or so. I saw a couple post refering to this problem but the solutions seemed to be spread. Is this better of brought to a Volvo Mechanic? Does anyone have the name and number of good Volvo Mechanic in the Fairfax Virginia Area?
Thank you!

Thank you for the recommendations -

It turned out to be that pesky 25 AMP fuse under the hood for the fuel pump - runs like a charm again. I will make a note of the mechanics for future reference.

if by chance you are near warrenton, then try ferris automotive in new baltimore. fairfax is a big area these days. also, precision imports in merrifield on dorr ave. woodbridge motorcars in woodbridge. if you are in the city of ffx, then oskuie is closest. i just don't know him like the others. good luck, chuck.

Take it to Oskuie service center in Fairfax, just off Fairfax Circle if you need a professional to check it out (703-273-8877). You can be confident they know what they're doing when you see their lot of cars for sale (almost entirely 2/7/9 series RWD Volvos). I just had some work done there myself after chasing a problem causing me to fail emissions.

    Good luck.

Sounds to me like a Fuel pressure regulator (FPR) if you check out the 700/900 FAQ's you will see what it looks like, easy to do yourself and is found on the end of the fuel rail towards the front of the engine.
