Excellent, reasonably priced snows 700

Just before Christmas and the extended travels that accompany the season, I wanted my brick shod in snow tires; the BFG Touring T/A's that came on the car had already proven themselves useless in even the slightest white. Bridgestone Blizzaks were my first choice, having driven extensively on them in the past, but at $100+ each....
My local tire guy recommended a new tire, the Bridgestone-Firestone Winterforce. At first I had my doubts; I have always been a fan of Bridgestones but sworn never to have Firestones, funny I guess since now it is all the same company but I remember the days of the Firestone 500s and the like, sidewalls all abulge and tread falling off. After checking out what turned out to be a very good looking tire, and considering the $60 price tag, I decided to give them a shot.
So far I have been really pleased with these, traction on both snow and iced roads is very stable, allowing great flirtation with boost in the snow, and best of all they do not make the car a pig on dry roads. In fact, they ride and handle somewhat better than the T/As that were on... They look great with directional tread, very deep, and a cool mountain pattern around the outside edge.
Anyhow, just a little heads up on these, I know it's already the middle of January but if anyone is looking for snows these seem to offer great performance and looks for the buck.

Two 745 turbos both with four wheel snows on steel rims. One with four Bridgestone Blizzacs and one with four Artic Alpin Michelins. It almost makes it fun when it snows. I drove the Blizzacs through the first blizzard of the year almost as good as four wheel drive, the conditions were extremely bad. I have been impressed with the four wheel snows concept.

All four is the only way to go... We recently moved back to the USA after a ten year stay in Japan, and hanging the snows is a national tradition over there (at least in snow country). They have never even heard of "all season" tires. Even the old folks are out bolting them on at the first sign of winter's approach; most people have two complete sets of tires and rims. Japan is where I first tried the Blizzaks, now I can't see doing without winter tread after experiencing the difference. You're right, it makes being in the snow fun.
