Does anyone have or have access to a good 3515364 wiring harness. I am in need of one.
Thanks

3515364 Wiring harness for '85-'88 240. 200 1986

I do have an extra 3515364 wiring harness for an '85-'88 240. However, I'd rather not give it up unless necessary. (The '85-'88 240 sedans/wagons are quite common around here and I have a few friends that still have the older harnesses in their cars).

If you've searched every parts yard within 60 miles of your house, and there are no '85 to '87 240s with replacement harnesses to be found, (and you need this harness right away) I could be talked into selling it. However, if you haven't searched the yards, please do so. Upgraded harnesses should be saved from the crushers whenever possible and it's not that hard to find them (and cheap too). Also, an original harness from an '88 will work in your car since Volvo was no longer using biodegradable wiring by then (and the '88 was the last year for LH Jetronic 2.2 fuel injection).

If you need help in determining if a scrap-yard vehicle has a new harness or an old one, read the following post:

So, is '88 identical to 85-87 even thought the part no. is different? I have been meaning to lay them out side by side to check that. Have you done so?

Same/different engine harness in '85-'87 and '88. 200 1986

Question: "Have you done so?"

No, I haven't, and maybe I should. The '85-'87 and the '88 use the same fuel injection systems, LH Jetronic 2.2, but for some reason the '88 240s came with the 'older' style intake manifold and the different fuel pressure regulator (and fuel rail to match). I'm not sure what other differences there are, but I would suspect they are few (if any) in regards to the wiring harness. The only difference I could conceive is the length of the wires as they pass down through the intake manifold and then branch off to their various connections.

You've sparked some curiosity in me. I'll have to find an '88 and verify this.

God bless,
Fitz Fitzgerald.

I give Dave Barton my double thumbs up and golden seal of approval. I got my harness from him. He was very helpful when I got lost during the instal. He went above and beyond the call. My next pre-86 240 will get a Barton harness too.

It was the best money I ever spent (to correct a negligent mistake by a major auto manufacturer who dodged reponsibility and gouged its cleints to clean up its own mess). ;)
