Is there a way to tell what colors were stock colors for the 1993 240? Specifically, I'd be interested in knowing whether red (bright red, not maroon) was a stock (factory) color for the 240 in 1993. Anybody know? Is a bright red one bound to be a repaint, or could it be a factory paint job? The car is 100 miles from me, and I can't inspect it first hand.

    Can you get the seller to read the paint code and inform you of what it is?

    They certainly made some red 240's. I would like to have a '91 SE wagon in the bright red like you describe. Since the SE was a "special edition" (hence the model designation) I think the red was not normally used. I could be wrong.
    Since you're talking about a '93 there's a chance that it's a 240 "Classic" and one of the final 240's made. The classic was also a special edition so maybe they offered special colors. This is all presumption on my part. Someone who really knows should be able to fill you in.

    My guess is #601 red, which is a factory color.
