headlight wiper motor rumble 900 1996

Hello,

One of the headlight wiper motors sits still and rumbles until prodded, then performs a single pass until pushed again to move and finish the cycle. Any thing to adjust or rebuild? Or is it time for a new motor?

I have taken them apart on a s70 that did the same thing and found that the gear was slipping on the shaft, peened it and did not have a problem. The problem I ended up with after using 5 small srewdrivers to hold the tabs away so that I could separate the plastic top was the gears fell out because they stuck to the grease on the metal plate inside. It took me several times to get the gears in the right gear timing to shut the wiper off. Patients is the key. Otherwise it is 170.00 to replace. Ouch.
