REA AXLE MOVED 200

My 86 with 275,000 miles on it has a rear axle that has slowly moved to the right. Only noticed it recently when I fitted new oversize tires. The right tire has plenty of clearance, the left tire occasionally rubs the inner fender well. I've had the car since new and it has never been in an accident. All the bushings have been changed at least once. (the torque rod busings have been change 3 timews, the last with poly bushings) So I'm confused. Anybody else ever seen that?

Not sure about this one but the rear trailing arm bushings are pressed into rear axle. If they weren't centered I think this could shift axle.

The panhard rod provides left/right positioning. Have you checked those bushings? If the car has been raised or lowered (either intentionally or through sagging springs) the axle will move laterally. The symptoms you describe fit a sagging spring scenario. MVP used to sell a nice adjustable panhard rod but no more.

I had the car lowered years aao but the left side of the car has sagged compared to the right. Most of the time, this car has been driven with just the driver. I wonder if my local shop would be able to help.

Thanks,
