Burnt Bulb Indicator 700 1986

Driving home the other night, I noticed my Burnt Bulb Indicator light
came on. Later I found out, low beam headlight on passenger side
was dead. I got replacement, H4656 (2A1), as owner's manual suggests.
Now, headlights work fine, except the BBI is still on ?!
If I turn on the high beam, BBI goes away. It comes back on low beam.
What's wrong here ?
By the way, all 4 headlights are GE made. No mixing.
Also, all other bulbs are fine.

Exactly the same thing is happening 700 1986

to mine, except they are all Sylvania's. Not all that old-just replaced the one because of a water leak, if I put the old one back in the BBI light goes out.
I got another new bulb-no change-cleaned the terminals. Guess I'll try another new low beam or clean the terminals on the other side??!! Or live with it!

The sensor measures current differentials. If one bulb is new and the other aging, it may trigger the sensor. If there is any corrosion on the terminals, this too will trigger the sensor. Always replace bulbs in pairs and always clean the terminals, protecting them with silicone dielectric grease.
