Winter Tires and Volvo graveyard north of Burlington Ontario? 200 1988

Greetings,

"Hamilton's Corner Garage" is located on Hwy 6 btwn the 401 and Univ. of Guelph. It's on the east side of the road. They have a 2 bay garage and a volvo only wrecking yard. Not sure how they would be fixed for winter tires though.

His contact info is here...

Hamilton's has a LOT of stuff....something like 400 wrecked volvos...which is awesome. However, their prices are really horrible. I called him looking for steelies to put snow tires on, and he quoted me $35CDN a piece! for old used rims! I could go to canadian tire and get brand new ones for 38 a piece. I have gone to Hamilton's a few times when I really needed something and couldn't get it anywhere else, but my suggestion would be to only use it as a last resort. They just charge way too much. I really can't understand how they stay in business sometimes. There must be a few old 240's kicking around in a graveyard somewhere close to you. good luck

14's in front......?........15's in rear......? Not good combo !! Handeling becomes a nightmare in slick (winter) weather. Unless your a professional driver, living on the edge...I suggest you balance your tire size.

If you aren't putting snows ( same brand) on all four corners, at least have the same size wheel (14" or 15") on all four corners.

I live in snowy / icy VT and I have 185-65-15" studded Hanooks on all four corners. 99% of the time I have no major issues with my 245 in winter conditions. The 1% is another story......the battle of the hill (which I'm winning) !!!

Match them and take a bit of stress out of winter driving....

Al
