Sunroof closing/opening problems 700 1988

when I attempt to close the sunnroof, it will close completely but the motor will not stop running and the sunroof will lift open to the vent position. same sting happen when I try to close from the vent position.

I am forced to play with the switch and get in & out of the car to make sure the roof is closed.

Does anyone know if the problem is with the sunroof switch or motor.

The most likely reason is a faulty microswitch in the motor.

I had the same problem with a 1988 760T. Eventually the motor quit, and I replaced it. Now the sunroof parks perfectly. There is an internal limit switch in the motor. I don't have the service manual in front of me, but it has instructions on properly indexing the motor when replacing it.
