Amazon that stalls. 120-130 1967

I've got a 1967 122s with a rebuilt B-18 and SU carbs. It starts up good but will not idle until I drive a short distance( enough the temp gauge is to normal) and stop then run into the store or whatever and then it will idle fine the rest of the day. Any ideas whats going on? Maybe ignition problem or carbs? Thanks.

Even in summer a little choke may be needed. 120-130 1967

Even in summer, the ambient temperature is far below the operating temperature of the engine, and a little choke is often required even then.

I assume you pull out the choke control when starting a cold engine. Stalling a cold engine is usually the cause of too lean a mixture. Check to see if the cold-start device works OK.

Are you using the choke?
Is the fast idle set right on the carbs?
If it is temperature that makes the difference it is NOT ignition,
it is most probably too lean.

Thanks for the ideas. I will double check my choke and cold idle. Although it's the same senerio even in the hot summer months.
