How does this bearing go? 700 1992

I am back on trying to solve my strut noise issue. When the wheels are turned, the spings sound like they are binding/turning. In reading old posts, I found that a possible problem could be the strut bearing is installed unside down.
Here is a pic of the bearing. I have it installed as shown, with the blue, tapered side up. Is this right? If not, could that be the problem.

    The domed side (blue in your picture) faces down. The white part presses into the upper strut mount.

    As far as I recall, the colored side goes up. It pops into the strut mount and is held in place by friction. But memory ages and is defective...
