Oil Seal Behind Distributor Cap? 900 1993

Hi folks,
I have a 93 940Turbo and am leaking oil behind the distributor Cap, Is there a seal behind this and is it replacable?.

Yes, this is well covered in the 700/900 FAQ. If you don't want to do it yourself, let me know and I can exchange you with a refurbished disdributor.

Go to Distributor Shaft Seal Replacment for the details in the FAQ. Your distributor won't have the Hall effect, but that does not effect the seal replacement.

I also have a 93 940T and have the same problem! My 90 745T doesn't. They must have madd some mfg change be tween the years.

There were no changes to the distributor shaft seal over those model years. See my response to the original post.

Good time to check for carbon tracking under the cap cover. Too much carbon back there will make a no run situation (personal experience).

rear cam seal, replacable... Likly at the same time a good idea to just remove the cam cover, do that seal along with the rear cam seal.
Not a hard and not an expensive job.
