Other PV 544 owners,

I got my new '64 PV 544 Sport running and the brakes working ok (master cylinder kit, new IPD hoses, and a new wheel cylinder on the driver's side). Now I am looking at a sagging headliner. What have you other PV 544 owners done about the headliner? Where can I get a replacement?

I went to an auto upholstery shop where they had an employee that knew how to make new headliners provided you supply the wires. Did a great job in no time at all.

Have looked through these postings. What about how to do this repair; is it difficult to obtain a good result and how long does it take? Which tools are needed etc.?

JC Whitney lists them still and they are quite good - $99.00 plus another $39.00 for the trim kit.

Swedish Classics - www.swedishclassics.com

They have gray felt (444 '54 - '59), off white cloth (544 '58 - '63) and perforated vinyl (544 '63 - on). I'm pretty sure anyone would fit, depending on your whim or desire to remain original.

Probably also available at one of the several vintage Volvo sources in Europe.

Since it looks like I have several good options on a headlineer, I took the old one down (now I can see out the back). Found that a mouse had been living up there.
