Stereo Install - Factory Amp Location 900 1993

I just bought a new CD deck from Crutchfield. The wiring harness instructions come with two plugs to mate with the existing factory wiring - one for where the old stereo/tape deck plugs in and one for the factory amp plug and harness. Where is this amp and its wiring? Everything else needed for the install I can seem to find.

you might not have an external amp at all. If, for example, you have the CR-915, you could be running all speaker channels off the head unit alone.

Let me know after you're done if you have AM reception. I just installed a pioneer deck in my '93 945 wagon and I dont have any AM reception at all. The deck worked perfectly in my old '91 745 though.

Under the dash on the driver's side. Remove the kickpanel, look up there with a flashlight and you will see a box inside a heat sink. Tha'st the amp. You can pull the panel for access on top as well.
