Front turn signal indicators 1800

I know this is going to sound rather anal to some, but I noticed on a Volvo production photo that the front turn signal lenses have the white portion on the bottom and the amber portion on the top. After looking at many photos of others 1800's I find that there is an even mixture of white on top as well as on bottom. Can someone confirm which is correct.

Just one of those odd little questions that tend to bug you... (or at least me anyway)

Interesting. US models had the white on top and European models had the reverse. Anyone have any thoughts on why???

That may have been a European/US market difference. I at first thought that it was a model year changeover, but thumbing through my 'Volvo 120 Series and P1800' book shows the orange and white ones on european 1800's fomr the earliest on through the ES. Probably along the lines of the US all red taillights vs. the Euro orange/red ones.
