Leather Magic, Leatherique, or Lexol 900

I will need at least a cleaner and a treatment. I have read testimonials in the past but never paid much attention. Just didn't have to until this new purchase. Leather Magic and Leatherique is in the FAQ. IPD's Lexol is a little cheaper, believe it or not, (and I owe them an order).

Does anyone have any pros and cons? Has anyone tried different products?

The leather in the car is very good in most areas to fair in the drivers seat. I can color a worn spot, about 1/8 X 2" on the lumbar support and some of the fine cracks with an art store Sharpie.

Any tips for treatment, protection, and care are most welcomed.

I use lexol to clean, and then apply "conolly hide food". This conolly stuff is great. It's what bentley, rolls royce and ferrari sell as their recommended leather conditioner. It dosent feel oily, but it gives the leather a nice smooth "matte" texture and it lasts for a while.

Leather Magic, Leatherique, or Lexol 900

Hi Tom:
I have used Lexol in the past, and just recently bought and used Leatherique conditioner and cleaner. The difference that only one treatment of Leatherique has made is really incredible. It has softened up the leather, closed up some of the cracks, and made the seats more comfortable. It is expensive, but it does a much better job IMHO than Lexol, at least on leather that was moderately in need of rejuvenation.

Hope this helps.

I used Leather Magic to re-dye my seats (tan leather in a 945). The kit came with a cleaner and conditioner. The color match was perfect! I highly recommend. However, I do not recommend using the aerosol sprayer they include in the kit. Get a 1" Purdy paint brush (do not skimp on a brush). You'll be happy with the results.

I highly recommend the leather rejuvenator and leather conditioner from www.griotsgarage.com
Their car care products are second to none, IMO. Not inexpensive, but
definitely worth it. And the leather care products aren't greasy,
contain no silicones, and last a long time. I switched from Lexol
and have been very pleased. I also really like their Best of Show Wax.

Leatherique 900

I can recommend the Leatherique products (Rejuvenator Oil & Prestine Clean).

I'm just starting to recondition and redye my seats, so I can't speak about long-term results, but those two potions really softened up the cardboard-like panels I've treated so far. The company also gives excellent support via email.

Maybe a bit more expensive than other options, but a little bit of the stuff goes a long way.
