NEED A PASSENGER HEADLIGHT!!!! 200 1989

I am in dying need of a passenger headlight for my 89 244 dl. Does anybody have a good assembly they would be willing to give up at a reasonable price? I don't even need a lense, the clips to hold my turn signal assembly have broken, and i've been reduced to using aluminum duct tape! All help is heavily appreciated

If it's just the mount for the turn signal that's broken, and the light itself is intact, there's a fix using what you already have. The headlight mounts are identical side to side, with the exception of the locations of the studs. You can remove both headlight assemblies, remove the clips that hold the headlights to the mounts, press the studs out of the plastic mounts (carefully!), and swap them to the correct locations for the other side. Then reinstall the headlights to the mounts, mount them to the car, and aim.

I had to do this after wrecking my last 245 about 2 years ago. I bought another 240 as a parts car, pieced together a pair of good lights from the 4 broken ones I had, and reversed the best pair of mounts. It's not as difficult as it might sound, and took me only about an hour to accomplish.

The headlamp bucket is available from ScanTach, but also try http://www.internetcarparts.com and ask Matt if he has one.
