clunking noise when turning left 900 1994

I have a '94 940 turbo wagon which started about a month ago making a clunking noise when I make a left turn. The noise sounds like it is coming from the left wheel area (drivers side). I had the car in the shop for a radiator replacement and timing belt and asked them to check out the problem. They said they could not find anything wrong, but maybe the bushings needed replacing. I replaced them myself and the noise is still there. Also when I put the brakes on and come to a stop the steering wheel vibrates. If I come to a slow stop it doesn't vibrate. Any suggestions?

Please let me know (sjones_sc@hotmail.com) what you find...I have the same problem when turning left (not a sharp turn), had into the shop twice, and can't find anything.

When all else fails 900 1994

If you do not find any bushing problems, it could be alignment. On sharp turns, if the toe-in/out is not correct, the tire can skip and what you hear as a clunk is actually the tire jumping. It isn't common but it does happen. This is most noticable when backing up (out of a parking space) with the wheels turned close to the stops.

However, you need to exhaust all bushing possibilities first since they are the most likely culprits.

Sure sounds like bushings. Take a look at:
-conical strut rod bushings
-sway bar end link bushings
-ball joints
