No brake lights 700 1991

Would appreciate advice in finding the fault
Brake pedal switch checked out OK. Removed the connector and jumped the 2 contacts in the connector - still no lights.
What is the next step?
Look forward to your replies
Morton

I had this problem before and it was the bulb failure relay. The relay is part of the circuit to light the bulbs, if there is a bad trace on the relay - no lights. I was able to resolder the relay and it corrected the problem.

No brake lights, problem fixed 700 1991

Thanks for the replies. You guys were dead on tracing the problem. It was the bulb sensor relay which I took apart and found enumerable 'dry' solder joints. I touched them up with a fine gauge resin cored solder and a light soldering iron.

Much appreciated

Morton

If your cruise doesn't work also the problem is the burned out bulb sensor in the relay box.
